Viva la Vida

Hello everyone, another week has passed here in Madrid. Not a great one, but not a terrible one either. Contacting was meh, companionship issues were a little prevalent, but there was a lot of good, too. The member's, for example, are getting to know us way more and becoming a lot more involved in the work.

So, full of ups and downs, like usual. Not much more to say for this week, to be completely honest. We had exchanges on Saturday, a really nice break to be honest. I went to the 6th ward, not much of an exchange since we live together, but good. We had a few lessons, one with a now-baptismal date. We also did 2 temple tours, which are always really fun. After that, we stole some cake from the Relief Society activity (we were kind of invited so it's alright).

We also some some nice activities in our own ward, a movie night, meetings for planning more, and a lot of meals.

For a spiritual thought:

Again, another Elder Holland talk can carry the week. In this one, fittingly named "Be Ye Therefore Perfect... Eventually," he talks about just that. I especially like the part where he says:

"In any case, I am grateful to know that in spite of my imperfections, at least God is perfect—that at least He is, for example, able to love His enemies, because too often, due to the “natural man” and woman in us, you and I are sometimes that enemy. How grateful I am that at least God can bless those who despitefully use Him because, without wanting or intending to do so, we all despitefully use Him sometimes. I am grateful that God is merciful and a peacemaker because I need mercy and the world needs peace. Of course, all we say of the Father’s virtues we also say of His Only Begotten Son, who lived and died unto the same perfection."

It's always good to know that while I'm never perfect, Someone is. That He still loves me and each of you despite whatever we may hate about ourselves.

That's it, pretty simple. You should all give the talk a listen, it's great. Also reach out and tell all about what's going on! I always love to read about it!

I also hope I don't put too much dirt on Madrid's name. I do really like it here. The fact of the mission is that there's some areas, companions, or situations that you just don't like as much. I just try to keep it as real as I can for these.

Id con Dios,

- Elder Puzey
