Adagio in G Minor

Hello everyone, this week was pretty similar to the last unfortunately. That being said, there was still a lot of good too. We had some pretty good lessons at the start of this week, but we've realized that a lot of our friends aren't really progressing. The guy who said he's already in Alma finally responded to our calls and he should be more free this week, hopefully.  We also had exchanges which were super awesome. I went with Elder Day to his area and we contacted for a bit, then just taught lessons at night. I got to talk a lot, even though one of their friends told me he's never met anyone as shy as me at my age. That was a little unfortunate, but multiple people say I just need to speak more. We had one friend at church, along with a ton of London ysa for some reason. They just came down for a weekend I guess.  For a spiritual thought: I was writing to President about last week's discouragement and he responded a bit later in the week(as he does-worryingly-ev...

Let Her Go

Hello everyone, this week has been full of ups, downs, then ups again. We started off strong, finding a lot of people, lessons, and a person that was being taught a long time ago call and say he wants to get baptized.  As the week marched on, the days got more and more difficult. The aforementioned friend has not responded to us, and the other one that said he's gotten to alma by himself hasn't either. Our friend that was on date said she didn't want to get baptized and that it would be nice if we didn't talk to her for a while. The most unfortunate part was when no one came to our wards valentines day party. So that was pretty tragic, and that's what sucks about needing opposition in all things. The good thing about it, though, is that after it always comes the good things; the things getting opposed. We had 4 people come to church, including a less active, part member family that we visited. Also this old Spaniard that looks a little like Jeremy Clarkson. Super cr...

We found a lot of people this week, but very few are actually progressing. There's still 2 or 3, but only one came to church. Speaking of church, it was at 5 o'clock because there was a different stake conference in the morning. So we basically had a little one, which, because we're in spain, started 15 minutes late. Then the second talk was 45 minutes long, our recent converts came, didn't sit by us, then we ended 30 minutes late. It was good, though, and we visited that member to give the sacrament. For a spiritual thought: We also read Alma 7:11-13, which reads: "And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people. 12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the ...

I Can See Clearly Now

Hello everyone, this week had some crazy Seattle weather. Lots of rain and wind, but nothing too crazy. What is crazy is that tomorrow I hit 6 months in the mission! It really hasn't felt that long and I've been in training for almost all of it, but that's what reassignments do i guess. Other than that this week has pretty pretty normal. All of the new missionaries left and transfers finally happened, so we're back to a normal 4 person piso.  We've been focusing a lot on getting to know the members, which is really awesome since I realized I basically didn't know any of them. So we've been swinging by a lot of doors (thankfully not knocking random ones), learning about football, and getting just a little lost. We also found a lot of people this week, with one or 2 still progressing! Going super well, but our main one from last transfers going to be out of country for basically all of this one. For a spiritual thought: We're back to planes finally. While ...
