Adagio in G Minor
Hello everyone, this week was pretty similar to the last unfortunately. That being said, there was still a lot of good too.
We had some pretty good lessons at the start of this week, but we've realized that a lot of our friends aren't really progressing. The guy who said he's already in Alma finally responded to our calls and he should be more free this week, hopefully.
We also had exchanges which were super awesome. I went with Elder Day to his area and we contacted for a bit, then just taught lessons at night. I got to talk a lot, even though one of their friends told me he's never met anyone as shy as me at my age. That was a little unfortunate, but multiple people say I just need to speak more.
We had one friend at church, along with a ton of London ysa for some reason. They just came down for a weekend I guess.
For a spiritual thought:
I was writing to President about last week's discouragement and he responded a bit later in the week(as he does-worryingly-every time). He told me:
"Don't let a defeat defeat you, the war is almost over, Jesus will win, He actually already won, therefore, don't be frustrated or negative, seek to be positive and outgoing, it will make a change in your life."
I want to make it clear I really don't think I was being negative enough to warrant a response like that, but it is still very true. As sung in "Gethsemane," the "fight was won by Jesus." Already.
It's kind of like what I've been reading in Joshua lately. The Lord repeatedly tells him to "be strong and of good courage," and He continues to "fight for Israel." It isn't like a movie where the good guys usually win, but you can't be too sure. It is already decided, spoiled even. It's already won, but we still need to decide what team we're on. Also in Joshua we're told "choose you this day whom ye will serve; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
We closed off this week with a well-deserved district trip to Toledo, my favorite so far by a lot. They old capital of Castile/Castilla, there is a ton of history and a lot of forgery. Almost every shop has swords and daggers, with the bigger ones including shields and armor. Super cool, but now I'm not sure how I'm getting my little present home.
Anyways, that's all for now. Please reach out so I have more stuff to read!! I might even be able to respond sometimes.
Id con Dios,
- Elder Puzey
