The Christmas Song

Hello everyone, this week has been super eventful, but not really in missionary work. Elder Palmer was still a bit sick, so it was a super slow start to the week. It also meant I had to do some calls, but luckily they went surprisingly well.
Since the arrival of the new(er) greenie and Elder Salmaron's departure, we were kind of thinking that I would be leaving. On saturday morning, the inevitable came in the form of a call with the APs. More on that a bit later, because this weekend was the Christmas conference.
We woke up sunday morning and got on the train with all of our luggage, including the 5 missionaries from our zone going home. One crazy Uber ride later and we got to the mission office. We have sacrament, practice singing, then do it for real at the stake's 3 hour Christmas pageant. Then the whole mission arrived and we got to the "hotel" (hostel with nightclub at entrance).
We got up at 5:30 this morning to get to breakfast, then Christmas conference started. Lots of sitting and listening, trying to understand the spanish. I got the general gist and it was super good and about how the mission is growing, giving gifts to Christ, and the wise men.
For a spiritual thought:
We watched the super good and accurate video about the nativity at some point during the 12 hour conference. This time it really stood out to me, even though ive seen it several times. It just touched me how these men, sometimes referred to even as kings, came to see their King. In the video, Christ was (accurately) around 2 or 3 and never spoke a word.
It's hard to describe how i felt watching that video, but i will try. When i thought about these kings traveling so far for so long to give almost all they had to a child. When they saw Him, they bowed with their companies and gifts. They're backs were still taller than He stood, but they wept and cried for joy. They knew their Savior and King had finally arrived, and they gave Him all they had, even though He had nothing to do with it. 1) because He was a literal child and 2) what He would bring to the world would completely overshadow all of it.
I dont know if that made that much sense, but hopefully something came out of it. Watch the video regardless!
Finally for the big reveal, I will be staying in Madrid after this conference! We have a temple day tomorrow, but after that I will be walking to my new apartment, area, and companion. Im actually super excited since I met that apartment last time I was here and I've heard good things about Madrid.
That's it for this week, again not much work happened, but a lot of other exciting stuff! Love you all, please reach out!
Ve con Dios,
