It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Hello everyone, this week was a bit of a roller coaster, so I'll get just straight to it. Its late and what be very long this time too. I know i said that last time but i promise it will be.
Highlights:
- Christmas lights are finally lit!
- We had a massive Thanksgiving meal today
- Our zone found over 50 people in a day again
- Super cold Super fast (Kind of a lowlights too)
- Had a missionary from the ward called to Madrid North stay over saturday night

Lowlights:
- The native in our apartment left to another area and we have a new missionary now (Hes good but just not the same😔)
- Lots of appointments fell through
- Super wierd appointment with amigos we meet with every week. 2 wouldnt join and the one that always participates wouldnt talk. I taught the whole restoration by myself since everytime i looked at my comps they didnt want to stop me/what to do.
- 3 meetings in a row wednesday morning
- Lots of people thought we were Jehovahs Witness (its alright though because we visited them one night)

For a spiritual thought:

This week i have studied a bit about the Spirit and spirtual promptings. It started with a podcast in some prework for mentoring. Elder Bednar was talking, and said to remember the promise of the sacrament prayer. When we keep the commandments remember Christs name, and basically "do what were supposed to," we will always have His Spirit to be with us.

He also said its okay to not have massive bursts of revelation or crazy moments. In fact, he said its not normal. He said "If you're just plugging along and sometimes go down the wrong street and you turn around and come back out, that's kind of how its supposed to work. If you're honoring your covenants and pressing foward, you're doing just fine and you're normal."

That was super comforting to know since I feel like I hold myself to a super high standard as a missionary. Sometimes I wonder what I did wrong to have a harder day or not experience some crazy miracle. This helped me remember that some days are just not as good as others and others are just normal.

This doesn't mean we can always just stand around, though. I was watching the film about President Monson's life, and one part really stood out. It was an experience he had when he was a young bishop, where he felt prompted to leave a meeting early and go to the hospital. He received a call from someone there asking to be visited earlier and said he would go after the meeting. He delayed acting on the prompting, not wanting to disrupt the speaker. He ran out and to the hospital before the benediction, where the nurses asked him, "are you bishop Monson?"

The patient who had earlier asked to be visited was repeating his name over and over, until he died. President Monson said he made a vow that day to never ignore or delay a prompting from tbe Spirit ever again.

I admit, there have been times in my life where I have delayed promptings too. I found it so relatable to think I would be disrupting something or that people would look and wonder "what is Elder Puzey doing right now?" That experience has confirmed for me that none of that matters, because spirtual promptings will always lead to something good. Something that will bless another's life or your own.

So, what I guess im trying to say is to not beat yourself up for not having crazy spiritual experiences, but also dont prevent yourself from having them by sitting back and relaxing. The Lord always requires some effort, because at the end of the day He put in the most and best effort of all.

Ve con Dios,
