Wake Me Up When September Ends

Hello everyone, today marks one month since I've been set apart as a missionary, which is pretty crazy to think about. I also have just over a week less here, so they field is getting pretty close. September has started off strong with me getting sick. I'm pretty surprised I was healthy for so long, but the time has come. It's just a sore throat and stuffy nose, so not terrible, but not good either.

Classes are going pretty well and we're learning more and more new things. The only problem is that we're getting more and more tired. This week especially since I've been sick and we moved our beds right next to each other.

We had Elder Lerreal speak to us on Tuesday, another brand new 70. His English wasn't the best, but his message was really good and it was nice to know that there are others struggling to learn a language and spread the gospel in it. He kept repeating " This is not FSY, this is the MTC!" I liked how it reminded me that I really am a missionary. His wife also talked about how blessed her life has been because of missionaries, and I'm so glad to have the opportunity to bless other families.

For a spiritual thought:
We've started learning about how to talk about the Atonement of Jesus Christ in Spanish, and found some scriptures about it. While I was looking for a specific verse in Doctine and Covenants, I found another one by flipping right to it. It was Spanish, but I could understand "¡Y cuán grande es su gozo por el alma que se arrepiente!" Or "And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!" I know that repentance brings only joy and is not something to fear. The verses right before that tell us to "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him." The Savior suffered so that we can repent, and it a blessing and important opportunity to do so.

Today I learned that I may be temporally reassigned to St Louis if my visa doesn't arrive by this Wednesday. I hope it does, but it is not the end of the world if it doesn't. I will be sure to let you all know of the adventures in the coming weeks, wherever they are!

Vais con Dios,

- Elder Puzey
