 Hello everyone. It's kind of late and this week wasn't too crazy, so this will probably be short.


We started SYL outside the classroom this week, or Speak Your Language. It basically means we're speaking Spanish everywhere and at all times. Or at least trying to. 

I didn' get my visa this week, so I am for sure going to St. Louis next week. It could be worse though. The workers messed uo bad with my companion and now he has to stay a whole other week at the MTC. All of us are so tired of being here, but he is especially. 

For a spiritual thought:

In our devotional on Tuesday, the Seventy that spoke to us told us 4 ways to access the power and comfort of Christ without feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. First is to live the doctrine of Christ. Second is to devote time to increasing your understanding of Jesus Christs Atonement. He made a really interesting point that Christ "gave" His life, and it wasn't "taken." It's a small difference in words, but shows His love for us on such a different level. Third is to minister to the one, and make them feel like they belong. Fourth is to invite and help others come unto Christ, or our missionary purpose. The thing that stood out to me the most was the theme of not giving up on people. There are some people who are there just to argue, but there are many who just need to keep being invited. Just because they aren't ready for something at one moment doesn't mean they never will be. We watched a video where Elder Kearon said he was asked to be baptized over 15 times, but his friends never gave up trying.

While I'm a little upset about my reassignment, I know that the Lord has a plan for me in any place that He sends me. Today I read in Romans 15, which i found a little before I started the mtc and it perfectly explains what I hope to happen for the next few weeks. It reads: 

" When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. 29 And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. 30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; 32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. 33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen."

Next email will be my first one outside of the mtc, which is crazy to think about. That's all for now, though.

Auld Lang Syne

Hello everyone, it's been a long week. Why New Year's is a Pday and Christmas wasn't is beyond me, but we're here now. The next few weeks will be thursdays, too so everyone knows. We left off at ZL exchanges, and to be honest not much happened. We found a few people on the streets, brought a homeless member meat to cook in the church, and called a ton of people. Not quite as fun as ZL monkey, but still good. The next day was Christmas Eve, where we had a very odd, but fun dinner. From blasting Last Christmas during the toast to random english songs until 11:30, there was always something happening.  Christmas Day was looking good with all 3 meals, until only breakfast got confirmed. It was really good, but not quite the same. Christmas also brought completely empty streets. Hello everyone, it has been an alright week. We've had a couple days where we couldn't really go finding because my comp got a crazy migraine and other things,  Even though we didn't find a lot of new people, we got back in contact with a lot of people that were busy during the last few weeks. So we had a ton of lessons, which is always great. This week was also the week of transfer news! I'm staying, but recieving an Elder Chivers. It's a little nerve-wracking to have to lead an area for at least a week, but it could be worse. It could have started tomorrow, but that crazy tragic recent train crash pushed back transfers a couple of days.  For a spiritual thought: I've been in Exodus recently and it's honestly really good! I would especially like to focus on the story of the burning bush. It begins with God saying "I AM THAT I AM" in response to Moses' questionings. This is a pretty intersting name that I find not a lot of people understand. Af...

End of Beginning

One of my favorite statues at the mtc, taken at 3:30 in the morning the morning I left. Hello everybody, it has been an absolutely crazy week and a bit so far! The last week at the mtc wasn't too bad, except for having to wake up at 3 tuesday morning and walk to the travel office through what felt like a ghost town. Traveling wasn't too bad, but I didn't know anyone and it was pretty quiet. We were at the airport for many hours, which kind of sucked, but I got to see most of my original district and my uncle there.  After the short flight to St. Louis, we met with President and the APs, then went out in groups and did the work. I was with two elders that said we were going to the hood, and that its the best area in the mission. I didn't believe them, but more on that later. We met with a lot of people for lessons, one of which had no teeth and another that thought sleepung through church was a sign that she should look for another one, but we pulled her back in.
