Spirit of St. Louis

Hello everybody, it has been a pretty wild week. After 2 days of travel, I arrived in Spain. We went to the mission office, which is also a hotel for temple guests. We street contacted in Madrid for a bit, met with the mission leaders, then the whole group slept at presidents house. It rained a lot the next day, which i didn't expect, then we met our trainers and left for our areas. I have 2 trainers and we're in a trio. We also share our apartment here in alicante with 2 other elders. It was a 2 hour train ride to Alicante, but it is so awesome here! We're just down the street from the church (which is an actual buidling) and walk everywhere. We have 2 wards and each one has a set of elders and sisters. The members are mostly immigrants and everyone is so nice. We get a lot of lunches and sometimes dinners, but they're so late that we have to rush back to the apartment.  All the spanish I thought I knew has gone out the window since I've gotten here. Everyone talks...

Adagio for Strings

Accidently sent that too early, so that's a bit awkward. Anyways, meeting with Brother Carr is awesome, because he loves to talk about planes and in Spanish. He's probably my favorite, but there are so many more that I will miss. I don't know how I could do this every transfer I move, but it probably comes with time.  Anyways, sorry this emails in two parts, but next one will be from Spain, and every one after that. Reach out Ve con Dios, - Elder Puzey For pictures:   Coming soon. Its lateHello everybody, this week has gone by super fast. This is my last pday in the United States, and I'll be leaving tomorrow at 6 in the morning. We left off with me in Pagedale on exchanges. As expected, the hood was the best for finding. 2nd door we knock is interested and was like "yeah I've been looking for a church for a while." We go storefinding and for the first time I want to be the one to talk. Everyone there loves talking about Jesus and church. We went to their ...

I know this one is very long, but it is so worth it I promise!  Hello everybody, since Elder Elliot has noticed I failed to send out an email yesterday I decided to do it today. Just kidding, the real reason is because we moved pday to Tuesday this week so that we could go to the temple. I did appreciate the shout-out, though. Anyways, this week started with President interviews, which went very well. We again read Mormon 9, and at first I thought it was the very same verses as the first time. It was actually the next page, verses 18-20. More on that later. We again talked about miracles, and that set the rest of the week up for success. Especially the weekend, which is probably all I'll talk about. On Friday I woke up at 4 to head to the airport. My appointment to recieve my visa was moved up a few days, so I was on my way to uvu all by myself. I made it all the way to Church Headquarters in Salt Lake, just to be told that old plans were sent out and that we would have to go back ...

Hey There Delilah

Hello everybody, this week marks 2 months as a missionary, which is super crazy. It's also already my 3rd week in field. That means a couple things, but the worst one is that we have to give the car back. This week started out strong with lots of doors open and then shut. Usually in that order and in quick succession. Those days were pretty rough, but as the week progressed it got much better. I've noticed in this mission that there are days that are completely bad or completely amazing. I'm not sure whether it's the work week, luck, or the need for opposition, but there is no in-between. I think a big part of it is that we are again knocking bigger houses. They're great for safety and less crazy people, but are not great for finding. They tend to be rich enough to not see a need for God and are not always very humble. Of course there are many exceptions, but most react the same or just don't even answer the door. But like I said, rough start but it got much bet...
